We were on a canal boat trip staying over night in the town. After speaking to a local we were advised that The Coach and Horses pub was probably the most hospitable and we made our way to the pub accordingly. We arrived at 7pm to what seemed a pleasant but quiet traditional establishment(Little could we have known what a marvellous evening was ahead of us).We setled near to an open fire and sampled the Theakstons Bitter which was excellent and within what seemed no time at all the place was almost full and a local folk band struck up to provide us with one of the most entertaining and enjoyable evenings in many a year. The landlord/regulars were extremely welcoming and full of fun from the moment they arrived. The band played for almost the whole evening non-stop and an hours visit turned into five. Wonderful pub and people. Thank you !
